“I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always offering prayer with joy in my every prayer for you all, in view of your participation in the gospel from the first day until now. For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:3-6, NASB).
You have been a valuable prayer partner through the leadership transition period for our ministry. We invite you to continue being a part of the praying community for The JESUS Film Project; please join us at www.jesusfilm.org/prayer. You will have access to our monthly prayer needs, a six-month prayer guide, and other prayer partner information.
Thank you for joining with us in prayer during this most important time in the life of The JESUS Film Project. The transition from one leader to the next can be a complicated and trying time for many organizations, but we believe that God has honored and answered the many prayers lifted up to Him, resulting in a good, healthy, and relatively smooth time. We cherish your prayers for this ministry of the Lord’s and would love for you to continue to partner with us. You can keep up with us either through our Facebook page or website, www.jesusfilm.org. May you be blessed as you follow the Lord.
Father, we thank You for allowing us the privilege of bringing requests for these 100 days of transition before Your throne. We also thank You for the many individuals who have partnered with us during this season of prayer. May they be blessed and encouraged for the important role they have played. The foundation of this ministry is You and the under-girding is prayer. May it continue to be so. Thank You for the many answers to our prayers and for the opportunity to unify our voices into one cry for Your help and guidance.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8, NASB).
Please pray with us that while many have come to faith through the traditional strategies of using the “JESUS” film and its adaptations, that God will help our ministry, The JESUS Film Project, to embrace and incorporate the rapidly changing world of technology, thus enhancing the ability to reach people anywhere on earth.
Please continue to pray for the major women’s training conference taking place this week in Ethiopia. May God strengthen the faith of the attendees and encourage the women to use Magdalena in their homes and communities as a way to open the door to spiritual conversations. The fields are ripe for harvest; may many come to know Him as a result.
Father, what a gift You have offered to us. We can be cleansed of sin and become part of Your kingdom just by confessing our sin and accepting the payment You have already provided. May we never take this awesome gift for granted. Open our eyes to see the many opportunities that You give for us to share our story with others right where You’ve placed us. May the gifts of new technology improve the speed and methods with which many are exposed to the gospel. And may the use of “Magdalena” in Ethiopia and beyond introduce many to Your saving grace.
Pagan Beliefs Give Way to Truth
“At first I was hesitant to show the ‘JESUS’ film to my fellow tribesman…because of their pagan beliefs,” stated Pastor Timcha, an indigenous leader in a Southeast Asian nation. He continued, “But I was amazed to see the people stay until the end of the showing. There were 157 viewers, and 50 [people from his tribe] responded to the gospel message and prayed to accept Jesus into their lives.”
Pastor Timcha mobilized “JESUS” film showings in two other locations and witnessed his people responding to the message about Jesus Christ through the film. The local churches that sponsored the showings were very much encouraged as local pastors followed up with the respondents. Although hindered by heavy rain and at one point a strong typhoon, the ministry of sharing the gospel continued to grow as 346 tribal people were added to the kingdom of God.
Father, we are encouraged when we read of Your workings through this film. Thank You for this Southeast Asian pastor who despite his reservations, boldly showed the film and witnessed Your Spirit move among the viewers. Inclement weather has not even stopped the going forth of Your Word on film. May many more showings of this film and its adaptations bring many more people to faith.
